How to Set Up Your Tukio Tracker with iPhone Find My in 60 Seconds

Pull the tracker out. Tap your phone. Done. No account required.

Tukio is built from the ground up to work natively with Apple's Find My network — the same system AirTag uses. That means no new app to download, no account to create, and nothing new to remember. Your iPhone already knows how to handle it.

Before You Start

  • Your iPhone must be running iOS 14.5 or later (any iPhone from 2015 or newer)
  • Bluetooth must be turned on (Settings → Bluetooth)
  • Find My must be enabled for your Apple ID (Settings → [your name] → Find My)

These are almost always already on. If you've ever used Find My iPhone, you're set.

Step 1: Activate the Battery

New Tukios ship with a small plastic tab sticking out of the battery compartment. Pull it out. You'll hear a short confirmation beep. Your Tukio is now awake and broadcasting.

Step 2: Open Find My on Your iPhone

Find the Find My app (white icon with a green radar). Tap Items at the bottom.

You'll see a banner that says "Tukio Tracker Detected." Tap Connect.

Step 3: Name Your Tracker

Choose what you want this tracker to find — Keys, Wallet, Backpack, Luggage, or type a custom name. This is what will show on your map.

Step 4: Pick an Emoji (Optional But Fun)

Tap an emoji to make your tracker instantly recognizable on your map. Lost 3 trackers at once? The emojis help you tell them apart at a glance.

Step 5: Confirm Apple ID

Apple will ask you to confirm you're registering this to your Apple ID. Tap Agree. Your Tukio is now paired.

Step 6: Attach the Tracker

Slide the included keyring through the hole on the tracker, or drop it into your wallet, bag, or pocket. You're done.

Bonus: Turn on Separation Alerts

This is the hidden gem. Go to your Tukio in Find My, tap Notifications, then turn on Notify When Left Behind.

Now, the moment you walk away from your wallet or keys, your phone pings you. You'll literally stop losing things after a week of using this.

You can also set Safe Zones (like "home" or "office") where you don't want the alerts — so you're not pinged every time you leave your keys on the kitchen counter.

Troubleshooting

Tukio not showing up?

  • Press the tracker's surface 3 times to wake it up manually
  • Make sure your iPhone's Bluetooth is on
  • Get within 6 feet of the tracker and wait 30 seconds

Want to transfer it to another family member?

  • On your iPhone, open Find My, tap the tracker, tap Remove Item
  • They can now register it to their Apple ID using the same steps above
